Pine was inspired by the dark silhouette of pine branches against a golden
sky. The evergreen pine is often depicted in Asian art as it is one of the symbols of longevity,
known for its endurance and hardiness even through the bitterest winters. The design is like a stencil,
with overlapping charcoal pine needles forming a lattice against the golden silk background. The rug
resembles a gold gilded Japanese folding screen decorated with a painted ink design. Alternatively,
if the background is done in pale grey silk the rug will resemble a silver gilded screen.
Colourways include charcoal and gold (featured),and charcoal and silver.
An alternative colourway, with silk and wool
reversed, is available in eucalypt and sage.
Pine can be customised by colour,
size, shape, yarn, pile or finish.
